LINK BUILDING CAMPAIGN

Now, there is no doubt that Google would have preferred that all these back links be created spontaneously and gratuitously. But that is not the case. You can sit by and wait for people to visit your site or you can take a pro-active approach either on your own or through a link building service. The reality is that it has become a marketing requirement that you develop an aggressive Link Building campaign else you will be left behind.

A campaign should be systematic and prolonged. It is better to generate 1,000 backlinks over 3 months than 3 days. Why? Because a massive influx of backlinks doesn’t look natural for an average website. You will never be penalized for having too many back links. In fact, MORE is always better than LESS, but if Goggle senses the popularity is less than natural, the backlinks carry less weight.

QUALITY BACKLINKS

It is not just the quantity of the backlinks that counts. It is also the quality of the backlinks that is relevant.

Google assigns a “page rank” to every web site. That Page Rank (from a low of 0 to a high of 10) is a measure of Google’s  estimation of the “authority” that you command on the net. CNN.com for example has a page rank of 10. Google obviously considers it an authority site. If CNN was to create a backlink to your site, it would carry a lot more weight than a site which has a page rank of 0.

So, it isn’t enough to simply get web sites to link to your site. You also need to cultivate as many “quality” back links as possible

ONE WAY BACKLINKS

One way backlinks is one of the best and most effective ways to get high positions in search engines and milk these positions for targeted traffic. But getting quality one way links is a big job.
