1. Defining your market
Your task is to decide and prioritize that segment of the market you want to target so that you can maximize the effectiveness of your marketing dollars. Having a defined target market doesn’t mean that your product or services won’t have cross-over appeal to people outside of your target market. This will always be the case.
2. Learn about your competitors
Understanding what your competitors are doing online is a must and absolute priority when launching a new website that is entering a competitive space and also when established websites want to keep an eye on their competition. By knowing what your rivals are doing in their SEO and social media space, not only will you have a better knowledge of their online marketing strategy, but you can also emulate what is working for them, and generate internal ideas to stay proactive.
3. Advertising your market
Write articles related to your product and distribute them to related websites. Visit other blogs where the audience would relate to your product. Leave comments and instead of leaving a link back to your blog or home page, link to a product page that matches the comment you’ve left. You can also try pay-per-click advertising such as Google Adsense.
4. Capturing costumers
Attracting customers to your website is achieved through many types of activities such as Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Google local search results listings, Yahoo Search submit Pro (SSP) paid listings.
Marketing is a process, not an event. It involves planning marketing goals and implementing marketing strategies to achieve them.
